ABOUT VINPIX CLOTHING CO.

I started VINPIX as a playful way to promote my photography.  For a few years now I’ve been shooting a series of photographs featuring antique motion picture equipment around town here in Los Angeles.  The image below is an example of one of my photographs.  This is a Century

Vista-Vision motion picture film projector.  It is one of my favorite shots, I love the aged textures, switches and knobs.

I had this photo framed on the wall of my home around the same time a friend of mine had a baby.  Since the parents were both film buffs and fans of the golden age of Hollywood I thought it would be fun to print my photograph on an infant shirt as a gift.  Later I thought it would be funnier to just pull the focus knob from the image instead of the whole shot.   A focus knob on a baby, funny no?

So I took an iron, bought some iron-on paper at the local stationary store, bought a baby shirt and gave it a try.  This is similar to what I ended up with.

I got so many positive responses and I had so much fun making new shirts I decided to create a whole line.  I hope you enjoy wearing VINPIX clothing as much as I enjoy designing them.
